Isshin-ryu Karate-do

The style of Isshin-ryu Karate-do refers to "The One Heart Way".  Isshin-ryu is a very practical and natural style of karate, without wasted motion or major body shifting.  The defensive and combative moves can be hard or soft, and low kicks are used to ensure that balance and mobility are maintained.  Every move has many purposes and implementations, which makes the art a constant journey and exploration.

The ability to alter the moves to your body style and type, and the focus on balance and mobility over appearance makes Isshinryu one of the best overall martial arts styles for anyone to learn.  You can read more about Isshin-ryu Karate-do on Wikipedia.

Kempo Gokui

“Eight Poems of the Fist”

A person’s heart is the same as heaven and earth.

The Blood circulating is similar to sun and moon.

The manner of drinking and spitting is either hard or soft.

A persons unbalance is the same as a weight.

The body should be able to chance directions at anytime.

The time to strike is when the opportunity presents itself.

The eyes must see all sides.

The ears must listen in all directions
